1. Delete in the app
Open Settings from your profile, then Account Management → Account options → Delete account. We ask you to confirm your password so that nobody else can delete the account for you.
Your account closes straight away and stops being visible to other people. Everything we hold about you is erased 30 days later. During those 30 days you can undo the deletion by signing in again, when we will offer to restore your account. After 30 days it cannot be undone.
2. Request deletion without the app
If you no longer have the app, cannot sign in, or would rather we erased your information without the 30-day wait, email privacy@fcpal.com with the subject "Delete my FcPal account". Include your username and, where possible, send the email from the address on your account.
We will confirm your identity before acting, so that nobody can delete an account that is not theirs. We respond within 30 days and there is no charge. Once confirmed, the same deletion described above is carried out.
3. What is deleted, and when

4. What we keep, and why
A small amount of information is kept after deletion because the law requires it or because it is needed to protect other people:
- Purchase records for seven years, as required by the Corporations Act 2001.
- Content check and moderation records for 12 months, so that decisions can be reviewed and reports can be investigated.
- Backups are overwritten within 30 days.
- Information we are required to keep by a law, court order or regulator, or that we need to enforce our Terms or protect safety.
Section 11 of our Privacy Policy lists every retention period.
5. Deleting some data without closing your account
You can delete individual posts, Lines, stories and recordings from the app at any time. You can also ask our Privacy Officer at privacy@fcpal.com to access, correct or delete specific information we hold, as described in section 13 of the Privacy Policy.
